The Avengers, or Marvel Avengers Assemble as its new UK title has it, has revealed a final trailer ahead of its 26 April 2012 release.
It’s hard to believe that a film that we’ve been anticipating since the credits rolled on 2008’s Iron Man is so close to finally being released in cinemas.

Avengers Assemble! No, not the popular catchphrase first bellowed by Thor but usually uttered by Captain America in Marvel’s ace comic-book series, but the brand-new title of Joss Whedon’s Avengers movie, which is now due to hit UK cinemas on April 26…

New Avengers image released online
The Avengers arrives in UK cinemas in just a matter of months, and Marvel have whetted our appetites still further with the release of a shiny new image featuring three of the team preparing for action.
The new shot shows Captain America striding purposefully towards the camera, flanked by SHIELD operatives Hawkeye and Black Widow. Pretty badass, we think you’ll agree…Okay, I’ve decided I like the new Cap uniform, but I HATE the mask… Something about it just don’t fit with the rest of the outfit. Maybe it’s that the uniform is matt but the mask/helmet has a sheen to it, I don’t know… it just looks “off”.
I love the suit but I know what you mean about the helmet. I think it’s because the wings don’t stick out, it’s too flat…
It’s odd, because it’s quite similar to his WW2 outfit, except for the covered neck and no chin strap, but I LOVED the WW2 uniform and can’t see why I have a strong negative reaction to this!
I think I’d like it better if Cap had a similar neckline to Hawkeye’s uniform and his mask would then look like it was a proper separate helmet…
